Our practice of 

Good Composition Skills & Design

The kids are really focused on this project!  Look at their awesome designs!!!

While listening to music (Enya), students add designs based on the mood of the music.  

Later, they "invent" & name a new color by blending at least 2 colors in each section of the background.

James Rizzi - Inspired Birds!

After looking at the work of James Rizzi, Kindergarteners were inspired to draw / paint their own Rizzi-inspired birds!

1st Project of the Year

5th Graders love taking their shoes off during class, so why not let them for a cool project?

Discuss contour lines & have students draw from observation.

Pencils & Sharpies only!

4th Grade- Symmetrical Name Designs

4th Grade

Tracing paper

Folded into triangles 4 times

Design Name, Sharpie, then trace as paper is unfolded

Add marker keeping in mind that the entire piece must be symmetrical.

I have students trace 3 hands, but they must use "Good Composition" by going off the edge, filling the space & blending at least 2 colors in the background.
