Each child painted and cut his/her own butterfly.

This work was purchased then donated to a hospital in Houston.

2 Day Project

Students learn to use 1 Point Perspective, line, and color for a dramatic effect!

This was a great project with many steps to achieve the final product.  

I think it took about 4-5 class sessions just to complete.  

(12"X12" Paper, Rulers, Skinny Sharpies, Fine Point Sharpies, Black Crayon, Tempera Cake, Colored Pencils)

Op Art

We began this project by looking at several pieces of Op Art...lots of Bridget Riley.

We drew our cubes step-by-step together over 2 days.  

Day 1 was the cube itself.  Day 2 was adding the grids.

All in all this took about 4 class sessions to complete.

5th Graders go crazy for this project every year.  I sometimes think I would like to try something else with them.  But, gasp!  I think they would single handedly toss me out of the building.
